Greetings cousin. A long and overdue weekly update will now take place. My deepest apologies for the tardiness, I hope this note and this writer finds you in the best of form and the finest of health.
A CD titled "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" by a small group calling themselves U2 will be making itself to you today. After having listened to it pretty much non stop for the last week, I reckon the boys from the motherland have themselves a fine, fine album. It will take a number of listens, but the tracks get better and better. Enjoy lad, enjoy.
It's a crisp day here in NYC. Clear and 45. Here's your weekly update.
Pixar's "The Incredibles" was the number one movie for the second week straight. An animated movie that follows the adventures of a family of former superheroes rediscovering the true source of their powers - in one another. It's a classic. I urge all to check it out. Total cash made to date, a little over $150 mill. Not bad for a cartoon!
"The Incredibles" held onto the top slot at the weekend box office in North America, while the costly, some say $200mill, Tom Hanks (news) holiday movie "The Polar Express" pulled in at a distant No. 2
Halo 2, the flag ship game for the x-box was released early last week with much anticipation. Rumor also has it that on the first day of sales, it made an estimated $100mill. Again, not bad for a video game. Oh and if any of you do possess an Xbox, I do recommend it. It’s a good time.
NASA's third and last X-43A "scramjet" will try to go 7,000 MPH today over the Pacific Ocean for 10 or 11 seconds — or 10 times the speed of sound..
R&B singer Usher, the smooth sensation behind four consecutive chart-topping singles and the biggest-selling album of the year, swept the American Music Awards on Sunday, winning all four categories in which he was nominated. Hooray!! By the way, Anna Nicole Smith was hilarious at the show. She was LOADED!!
Tom Hanks (news) is expected to step into the scholarly shoes of Robert Langdon, the professor who unravels the mystery of the Holy Grail in the film version of Dan Brown's phenomenally successful novel "The Da Vinci Code."
Band Aid - Twenty years after the release of one of the biggest singles of all time, leading British artists gathered on Sunday to re-record the charity hit "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

iPod - the previously rumored flash memory-based iPod variant should go into production in December, and is expected to make a debut in early 2005. Interface and controls should be similar to the current click-wheel iPod and iPod Mini, and is expected to be in a storage capacity range of 256 Megabytes to 1 Gigabyte. Pricing is now expected below $200.
The mummy of King Tutankhamen is to be X-rayed in an attempt to solve the mystery of how the teenage Pharaoh died at age 17, Egypt's chief archaeologist said Sunday.
Atlantis found off Cyprus coast - A U.S. researcher claims he has found the lost civilization of Atlantis in the watery deep off Cyprus -- adding his theory to a mystery which has baffled explorers for centuries.
Beavers Make Dam Out of Stolen Money - Beavers found a bag of bills stolen from a casino tore it open and wove the money into the sticks and brush of their dam on a creek near Baton Rouge.
