The weekly update for 9/27/2004
Greetings and salutations cousin Will, and fellow bloggers. My apologies for the absence of the weekly update last week, i was visiting a wonderful resort in Santa Barbara for work. even tried my hand at surfing again. although i was really crap the first time with Heather's Nick assisting me, this time although the waves were kinder, it felt better. to be the only folks at the beach was a good thing too.
right. on to the report. it is a sticky 74 in new york city. moxy rain and gray skies today. the remnants of jeanne we're told.
Music - U2 released the first single for the much anticipated follow up album "All That You Can't Leave Behind." The first single "Vertigo" from "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" was released exclusively on the iTunes store online. The track is pretty rockin. I believe it is different from the track i put on one of the cd's for you, that might have been the "jack knife lee mix. not sure if i gave you the album track listing, but here it is...

The comedian Jay Leno and NBC on Monday chose the 50th anniversary of the first "Tonight" show to set a special date for the 55th, 2009 — when Leno will step down and Conan O'Brien becomes the fifth host of the television institution.

British billionaire Sir Richard Branson spoke at a news conference in central London, September 27, 2004. Branson announced that Virgin Group would begin offering space flights in 2007 for groups of up to five passengers, with a cost of about $198,000 for the ride.
California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who set up a tent outside his smoke-free state office to accommodate his taste for a good cigar, signed a bill barring tobacco from state prisons.
