The weekly update for 9/13/2004

A number of remembrance ceremonies of 9/11 occurred on Saturday. The towers of light were once again lit here in NYC to remember. There were a number of documentaries on TV interviewing the survivors. To see, hear and relive what they and we all experienced then is still unbelievable and unforgettable.

Here is your weekly update.
It is a pleasant 73 in new York. the sky is clear and the humidity has left us for now.
Roger Federer thoroughly outclassed Lleyton Hewitt in the final of the US open. the final score was 6-0, 7-6, 6-0. Federer became the first man since 1988 to win three majors in a year, to add the American Grand Slam title to those he took at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. For his work, he was handed a not too shabby $1,000, 000. Not bad for a game of tennis.
The number 1 movie of the week was Resident Evil, based on the popular video game of the same name. Word of mouth have not been good. I reckon I'll be catching it on HBO.
One movie you should try and get your hands on is Napoleon Dynamite. Funny, funny as all hell.
I'm sure you've received all the football results...so I'll leave that out.
Another Hurricane, Ivan is on the move. It wrecked parts of the Cayman Islands and is moving slowly towards Cuba. At Category 5, the highest level on the Saffir-Simpson scale it is capable of catastrophic damage.
The last Category 5 storm to make landfall in the Caribbean was Hurricane David in 1979.
Only three Category 5 storms are known to have hit the United States. The last was Hurricane Andrew, which hit South Florida in 1992 causing more than $30 billion in damage.

North Korea said Monday that a huge cloud caused by an explosion near its border with China several days ago was the planned demolition of a mountain for a hydroelectric project.
US Airways has assured customers they won't notice any changes following its decision to file for bankruptcy protection, the second time in two years the airline has sought such help as it struggles against lower-cost rivals.
