long time no talk

HI all,

didn't get to read the below posts yet, this connection is darn slow. hot news from here, the pakistani contractors decided to strike a few days ago, as they didn't like the way they were being treated. democracy really is taking root here. one of our dets had a huey make a forced landing in one of the hot spots they are talking about now on the news. unfortunately one of the pilots/read one of my friends was injured such that he will never fly again, pretty sad, but thank God they all lived. I had the "privelege" of flying over bagdad yesterday, much different when i flew over it last year, but looks about the same, it's a very busy place and we were escorting an army medevac bird. it could be a great city i think. also saw lake thar thar, a huge dammed up area west of bagdad. actually beautiful enough to be in a Corona commercial, really great blue contrasting water, and nice white sands and even some chesapeake size waves, sadam had a huge palace on the shores, a couple of acres worth of buildings and docks, and palaces, and each and every structure was pancaked from precision strikes, oh well, it was beautiful at one time. i will be leaving for one of the forward operating bases next week, so i'm not sure how the internet connectivity is there, probably not as good as it is here. well hope this finds everyone well, the rest of the squadron showed up yesterday and we are falling into place nicely. ops good. talkies later, love, will
